In 2010, Educational Leadership Project (Ltd) enters a new era. For a decade, we have been working as an independent professional development provider in New Zealand contracted to the Ministry of Education and therefore funded by Government. We believe that over this time we have built up a vibrant community of committed and passionate teachers. Here at ELP, we have high expectations of teachers and children alike.

The name 'Educational Leadership Project' was chosen quite deliberately. We are deeply interested in leadership that is focussed on increasing our knowledge and expertise around learning and teaching. We are strongly committed to the principles of Te Whāriki and see this as deeply relevant not only to children but to all the adults in the EC setting. We are committed to providing opportunities that will weave professional learning into our practice and we need to keep abreast of current research to continue to refine our pedagogical practice.

We are passionate about strengthening professional learning communities of teachers who have strong learning dispositions that enable them to:

• take risks
• debate and dialogue with others
• collaborate with others
• engage as teacher researchers in their professional learning
• participate with others in reflection and feedback sessions
• learn and re learn
• involve themselves in innovative practice.

With changes in government policies, ELP now enters a commercial environment and this new way of work will include a membership option.
