In this project, the focus is centre improvement and innovation. It is our goal to support centres to become ‘lead centres’ – centres that become known for their excellence in aspects of learning and teaching.

In the past, many professional development planning processes have started from the needs of teaching staff; in this project the needs of the centre/service are the starting point for professional development planning.

Writer Michael Fullan* suggests that the impact of professional development depends on a combination of opportunity and motivation to learn.
