Come and join us for our hikoi around the historic sites of Tauranga Moana. Des Tata, a local kaumatua, will be with us to tell the stories of what has gone before us which will support teachers in drawing past, present and future together. Understanding what it means to be situated under our local maunga, surrounded by our moana and shaped by our local history will assist us in endeavouring to grow our knowledge of place-based education. Te Whāriki has a vision that recognises Māori as tangata whenua, assumes a shared obligation for protecting Māori language and culture, and ensures that Māori are able to enjoy educational success as Māori. Come and journey with us.
Both of these tours are now full. If you would like to see the event take place again please get in touch with Claire firstname.lastname@example.org
